Winter Wishes

A huge thank you to Coach Holstrom, our PTA, and all of the student groups that assisted with this year's winter wishes. Over $7000 was raised and there were lots of very happy faces on Friday as wishes were handed out.

MOAS Returns from Washington

Midland, TX: Twenty-four Midland High students visited our nation’s capital to attend the Organization
of American States summit with students from all over the Western Hemisphere. They came together
to discuss current political challenges faced by the thirty-five member countries. The topics ranged
from promoting democracy and law to health and security.
Today, the Model OAS students gathered to celebrate and give thanks for their trip. The Midland
Education Foundation who generously donated a $5,000 grant to the Midland High MOAS group was in
attendance and received feedback directly from the students about their D.C. experiences. The public
speaking skills and civics education attained by the students will help them achieve great outcomes in
their future.
The Midland High MOAS club has participated in the model for the past ten years.

The student trip was November 10-16, 2019. Students visited several national monuments, museums
and attended Veteran’s Day ceremonies in addition to their responsibilities at the Model Organization
of American States event.

We invite the media to take photographs and/or record footage at the luncheon being held at the
Midland High campus in Conference Room A (next to the principal’s office in the main building) from
1:15 PM to 2:15 PM on Thursday, December 5, 2019. Midland High: 906 W Illinois Ave. Midland, TX

If you would like additional information, please contact the MOAS academic advisor, Jeanette Lozano
at or 915-422-3638.
