A Year of Flexibility and Resiliency
It is important to recognize that our county is not out of the Red Tier and therefore wearing masks to school every day is still a requirement. We appreciate your support in helping your student remember to bring a mask to school. While we have a supply in the office, it isn't endless and we need everyone's cooperation in helping us to continue to have a safe and healthy campus.
Cross Country concluded last week and it was such a great opportunity for our Lassen View Panthers to get outside and compete. Thank you to all the staff and parents who attended and cheered on our runners. It was a lot of fun and felt great to get back to some normal activities. We are also excited to begin 4th/5th-grade girls' and boys' softball games this month. We will be competing against teams from the other schools in our EESD district. Again we ask that you limit spectators to immediate household members and wear masks upon entering a school campus. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Finally, we have several end-of-the-year events planned. One 4th grade student said it best, "I just want to go on a field trip, even if it is a terrible one!" LOL...we hear you and so each grade level will be planning a special concluding event to celebrate students and their hard work at learning. We want to end our school year making memories so students can one day reflect on the 20-21 school year and remember not only did they go to school during a pandemic but they remembered to live life and have fun while doing it!
Have a wonderful summer celebrating with family and friends,

A Word From our School Counselor, Jen Wilson
Hi there Lassen View Families,
I hope that everyone had a great April and spring break. It was nice to have a week off to regroup for the final months of school. As we approach the final full month of school, I want to thank all of you for the hard work that you have put in to make each student as successful as they can be.
I am hopeful that next year we will be able to be back to normal or at least a little bit closer. Summer break can be a great way to get rest, relax and reset but it can also be very stressful. I have included a few resources and activities if the kids are bored or if you are looking for something for them to do. The City of Redding Recreation department has many camps, organized activities and other adventures. I would recommend getting an activity guide or visit their website. My kids have done many of them and always had a great time.
Thank you again for all the hard work. It has been a roller coaster ride. I will be checking my email frequently throughout the summer. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
Have a great rest of the year and restful summer.
Jen Wilson
