Sacagawea was an Indian from the Osage tribe. She was born in 1788. Her name means Bird woman. She got
Captured when she was 12.There she was sold to a fur trader for fur.

She came on the expedition with Lewis and Clark. There she helped as leader as a guide. She went miles with her baby on her back. There 43 men and one girl her. Plus she got to meet her brother!

After Sacagawea had 2 kids a boy and a girl. The boy’s name was Jean Baptist Charbonneau. In Osage it means pomp. But Clark called him little dancing boy. He was born on February 11, 1806.
