Seniors, 'Tis the Season to File Your FAFSA
The Phoenix Digital Academy Counseling Department will be hosting line-by-line Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) workshops on Thursday, December 1, both on-campus (in-person) and online. We encourage all graduating seniors and their parent(s) or guardian(s) to attend one of these workshops together on Thursday, December 1:
- Online Workshop via Microsoft Teams: 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Click here to join the meeting.
- On-Campus Workshop at Phoenix Digital Academy: 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
If your student will be graduating in December 2022 or May 2023, this is an excellent opportunity to complete the FAFSA. The application is used by virtually all two and four-year colleges, universities, and career schools for awarding federal, state, and college-funded student financial aid.
Advisory Credit for Fall 2022
Students are now able to earn 0.25 credit per semester for Advisory by either earning all passing marks for Quarter 1 and participating in ten (10) hours in activities and events OR by participating in 30 hours in activities in events.
Students are encouraged to reach out to their Advisor and check their Advisory Team in Microsoft Teams for more information.
Senior ASVAB Test on December 7 at Carl Hayden High School
We are encouraging all Phoenix Digital Academy seniors to take advantage of this testing opportunity. The ASVAB is not only an aptitude test but a career assessment tool which can help students identify what career(s) correspond well to their strengths and weaknesses. Further, a minimum qualifying score on the ASVAB is required to gain entrance into any military branch.
ASVAB Testing will be held at Carl Hayden Community High School Auditorium on Wednesday, December 7, from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Students must arrive prior to 7:50 a.m. to test.
Students may sign-up to participate in the test by contacting Mr. Morris at mmorris@phoenixunion.org or 602-764-3015. You must RSVP by December 5 to reserve your seat!
Time Tracking for Attendance
Please be sure that your student is tracking any time spent engaged in his, her, or their schoolwork outside of Edgenuity in the Time Tracker. This is especially important if your student has one or more of their courses in Canvas. Failure to track and approve time may result in your student being dropped from Phoenix Digital Academy for non-attendance.
- Students can access the Time Tracker via StudentVue. Click here to learn how to learn how students can track their engagement time in four (4) easy steps.
- Parents must approve any time recorded by students in ParentVue for the time to be recognized as attendance. Click here to learn how to approve the time recorded by your student.
