King Principal Introduction
Framingham Public Schools
Introduction of Principal
Dear King Staff,
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of King Elementary School. I am thrilled to begin the new school year at King, and look forward to meeting students, staff, parents, and community members. I have already had the opportunity to meet several of you, and your love of King has been such a wonderful thing to experience. It is obvious that this school is a unique place. I am so happy to be a part of it.
It is awesome to remain in the Framingham School District, my beloved community. I have been an 8th-grade math teacher at Walsh Middle School for the past 19 years and served as the math department head. Prior to working in education, I worked as a medical consultant at Boston Juvenile Court and a pediatric physician at Boston Medical Center. My educational background includes a Doctorate of Medicine at the State University of New York Health Science Center, a Master in Education from Cambridge College, and a Bachelor Degree from City College of New York. In July, I will complete my Masters in Educational Leadership at MSAA -Endicott College. I look forward to the opportunity to utilize my years of experience to help support teachers' growth and development, and to bring my skills as an educational leader to our school to work with you as a partner to ensure that children are provided with skills and tools to put them in the best position to learn.
Additionally, I am a resident of Framingham for over 12 years and I’m a very active community member. I serve in various roles at the Greater Framingham Community Church which includes working with the children at my church and within the community. I’m a wife and mother of two young adults who are pursuing their college degrees.
I am aware of the anticipation and eagerness that accompanies new leadership in any organization. It is expected and understandable. I know that change can provoke both excitement and anxiety. It is my goal to spend my first several months learning about our school and all of its stakeholders. I eagerly anticipate getting to know the King community and learning about your hopes and dreams for our school. I believe that genuine collaboration fosters ownership of a rich school culture. Supporting our kids to do well at school, and in their personal lives, is the center of the work we do as a school family. I am honored to have been selected to serve the King School, and I will work hard to gain your trust and respect as your King principal.
I will be working most days this summer to ensure for a smooth transition and opening in August. Please feel free to stop in and introduce yourself to me - 07/15, 07/16 and 07/19. I’ll be sure to send reminders in July.
I hope all of you get to enjoy some quality time together this summer with your precious families. I look forward to meeting you and working with my new school family.
Sincerely,
Dr. Marguerite Simpson -Lackard
