Staff News
Thank you for your Bake Sale items!
Thank you, once again, for the delicious plates of treats that you donated for the SAC Bake Sale! A special thanks to Chuck Driver for setup and Teresa Davis for manning the Bake Sale table and taking donations. Thanks to ALL OF YOU, we have approximately $650 to help fund our gifts for students at Mansfield School District! I think you will agree that we have the most incredible staff ever!
The Case of the Missing Bear
If you will bear with me, we just barely heard that this bear is missing. We find this to be unbearable, so if you will help us to bear the burden of finding the bear, or if you know who should bear the blame, please bare your soul and let us know. Thank you!
A Star is in our midst
Nancy Zahn is once again starring in and directing "Holiday Spice," which will be presented November 19 at the Performing Arts Center as a kick-off event for Festival of Trees. We are proud to have such talented staff! More photos to come!
United Way Campaign is in high gear!
Thanks to those of you who have already donated to the United Way fund! If you are planning to donate and have not yet done so, please return your donation form to Sariann or Eldene before Friday, November 20 to be eligible for the next drawing, when names of those who have donated so far will go into a hat for a drawing for an Applebee's card. Remember, your donation goes to help fund many local organizations that benefit students ~ and you can designate which organization you would like your donation to go toward, if you prefer. There will drawings for more gift cards, with the final big drawing at our Staff Christmas Luncheon on December 18!
NCESD Educational Foundation Teacher Grant awards
The 2015 ESD Foundation Teacher Classroom Grant awards were presented October 29 at Eastmont Junior High. Thanks to the generous donations of individuals and organizations, 85 teacher grants were awarded through the selection process and through adoptions by individuals/ organizations and funding through school districts. It is inspiring to see how these awards continue to grow each year - beginning six years ago with eight grants awarded and now increased over ten times!

The benefit of Teacher Classroom Grants
Jim Adamson, ESD Foundation Board member and retired teacher, shared the benefits of receiving a teacher grant for his classroom many years ago.
The largest number of grant awards were presented in the STEM/STEAM category, thanks to a generous donation received from the Community Foundation of NCW, who were recipients of a large grant from the Gates Foundation. Approximately 35 awards were presented in this category. Pictured above are the STEM/STEAM award winners who attended the award ceremony.
