PCMS WEEKLY UPDATE
October 11, 2019
On Wednesday, 54 student leaders from PCMS attended the first annual 2019 Northland Youth Leadership Summit. Students from Clay, Platte and Ray counties were able to learn about leadership skills, as well as other workshop topics focused on mental wellness, positive relationships, dangers of vaping, music therapy, and being an ally. Students were also offered time to plan for how to share out their learning and to strategically plan on action items they wanted to implement back at PCMS. PCMS students left inspired and empowered to make a change for all of our students at PCMS. (Tri-County Mental Health Services hosted the leadership summit with support from AT&T, Destination SAFE, MODOT, Platte County Health Department, and the Missouri Department of Behavioral Health.)
It looks like we have a beautiful sunny fall weekend ahead of us. We hope everyone can get out and enjoy it before it's gone!
Check out the awesomeness at the Northland Youth Leadership Summit!

Keep Up to Date with your Child's Grades via Parent Portal
Today wrapped up the End of 1st Quarter. Have you been keeping tabs on how your child is doing in his/her classes? Parents can use Parent Portal to keep up to date on grades, attendance, lunch account balances and more!
Check out the Guide to Parent Portal for instructions on how to use this student and parent information system.
NOTE: The “Assignments” and “Grades” tiles in Parent Portal aren’t used as frequently by elementary parents (grades K-5), as by secondary parents (grades 6-12). Elementary progress under the Grades tile is shown as standards-based progress as reported on quarterly report cards.
You can log onto Parent Portal by visiting plattecountyschooldistrict.com and clicking on the “Grades” icon at the top of any page. You can also download the Tyler SIS Student 360 app on your mobile device.
If you haven’t signed up for Parent Portal, contact your child’s school:
