Parent-Teacher Conferences

A reminder that parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for November 23-24. We expect that a parent/guardian of each child will attend parent-teacher conferences. If you do not have a scheduled conference time, please go online and sign-up or contact your child's teacher to schedule a time.

More on Parent Teacher-Conferences

Parent-teacher conferences serve as one important moment of communication, which ideally would be one of many moments of communication between parents and teachers who work in partnership to support our student's academic and social growth. As you prepare for your parent-teacher conference, I recommend writing down specific questions that you have for the teacher. It would help to share those questions with the teacher in advance so the teacher can prepare or organize information to best answer your question as the conference is 15 minutes in length.

If parents would like to meet with me before or after your parent-teacher conference, please let me know.

Student's Language

It has been brought to my attention that students are hearing other students use profanity while at school. If children are using profanity, it is unacceptable and consequences will stem from the poor choice of language. I would like the help of our parents in speaking with our children in regards to the expected language they use. No parent sends their child to school to hear profanity and if it is happening, it needs to stop. We will be speaking with children to remind them of this expectation. Consequences for use of profanity may include a conference with a student and parent contact, a lunch detention, removal from the place of occurrence for a long period of time (for example the lunch room or the playground/recess), or suspension from school. Thank you for your support of this. Together we can create the best school for our students.
