March 2023
Hello Hurricane Family,
Happy Spring! On behalf of the Klein Cain faculty and staff, I would like to thank everyone for your continued support for our Hurricanes! We have been very busy since we have returned to campus this semester! There is so much to look forward to as we embark on this end of the year adventure!
There is A LOT of information in this issue of Hurricane Happenings, so please make sure to take your time and review all of the information that has been included. We have information about upcoming events (through the 1st week of May), district news and announcements, campus celebrations and much, much more!!
The arrival of spring also signals the arrival of testing! Whether it is EOC/STAAR, AP Testing, TELPAS, or ACT/SAT, most students will take a very important test on a variety of days. Information, such as testing dates and times, will be posted on our website and via Facebook and Twitter, so be sure to follow us on social media!
Finally, as stated above, our students are active and involved in so many clubs/organizations and team representing our campus in competitions, meets, games and contests! We would love to see you out and about cheering on our Hurricanes!
We hope everyone enjoys a fun, safe and memorable Spring Break next week! We will see our students back on campus on March 20th!
Reign Cain,
Nicole Patin
Klein Cain High School Principal

Jake Creamer will be sitting for the Texan Exam at State Competition as well. Several Animation projects and Robotics will also be competing at the State Level.
Quick shout out to Olivia Birmingham for designing our official Klein Cain TSA logo.
Congrats to HLSR Glassell School of Art Scholarships Winner!
Salma Quero has won a coveted scholarship to the Glassell School of Art! HLSR will pay for tuition and materials for 120 students from thousands of entries. Applicants have gone through a rigorous application process that considers their academic standing, included letters of recommendation, and qualifying rodeo artwork entry.
Congratulations to Alicia Clines and her teacher Kaylee Hill! She has been selected to receive the Harris County Department of Education Trustee’s Incentive Award. For the digital art titled, Blazing Novice, Harris County Department of Education would like to extend the opportunity to sell the piece to Harris County Department of Education for $500. She is the only student from our region selected to receive this award. With over 7,700 submissions, this achievement is indeed something to be proud of!
Cain Automotive
Automotive students competed in the UTI Top Tech challenge. There were 60 teams in the hands-on competition from all over Texas, and there were seven different stations that had real world automotive problems they had to solve.
Parker and Cayden took 10th place winning a $1000 scholarship each and Joshua and Shannon took 1st place winning a $10,000 scholarship each. This is the second year in a row we have won this competition.
JV Tennis competed in the Conroe ISD Invitational last Tuesday and came away with 5 gold medal finishes and 2 bronze medal finishes. Varsity Tennis traveled to Mansfield for the 16th Annual Kowbell Invitational. They played against really strong competition and came away with a few medals as well.
Our two girls singles players placed 1st and 3rd respectively. Additionally, our top girls doubles team won first place in their draw. We also had our top boys singles player finish with a bronze medal on the day. We capped off the trip with a great experience stopping on the way home to watch A&M Men's Tennis play against a top 5 team in the country.
