New Years Eve Worship and Social
Plan to join us on the Hilltop on Saturday, Dec. 31 for a brief communion service in the Sanctuary followed by a potluck social in the Lobby. The event will start a 4 PM in the Sanctuary. Pastor Dave will lead us in a short devotion followed by communion. Pam Kalmbach will be our organist for several hymns of praise. The social time after communion will be a great way to greet each other and reflect on 2022 and maybe even play a few games. Everything will be done before sunset so folks can get home safely.
Please bring food for the potluck according to LAST name:
A-G – Main dish
H-R – Salad/Side dish
S-Z – Dessert
Let's end 2022 by worshiping and celebrating with our family and friends!
NOTE: There will be only 1 service on Sunday, Jan. 1 (New Year’s Day) at 9:30 AM in the Worship Center.
From Your Pastors
A new year always seems to bring mixed emotions to people. While most are happy to put the old year behind them, there is the anxiety of what the new year will bring. Will it be better than the previous year? For Christians, we can rest assured that the Lord will continue to be with us in whatever lies ahead in 2023. We have several events this weekend to mark the new year. There will be a short New Year’s Eve communion service followed by a social/potluck. That event will be held this Saturday (Dec. 31) beginning at 4 PM in the Sanctuary. On Sunday we will have one service to mark New Year’s Day at 9:30 AM in the Worship Center. This Sunday we will begin a new message series focused on the power of the names of Jesus. This Sunday we will examine the name “Alpha and Omega”. There is no “Connections Hour” this Sunday. All our Sunday morning education activities will resume Sunday, Jan. 8.
New Year’s Eve: Saturday, Dec. 31

Followed by a social/potluck in the lobby

We are preparing to welcome Pastor McIntosh and his family (Melody, Hayden & Hope) to Zion in just a few weeks. Installation for our new senior pastor will be Sunday, Jan. 22, at 4 PM in the Worship Center followed by a reception and meal in the gym. Pastor Zach’s last Sunday at Concordia San Antonio will be Jan. 8. Pastor Zach has been having difficulty finding a home that works for their family so they have decided to temporarily rent a home in Georgetown. Keep the McIntosh family in your prayers for a smooth transition to Zion in the coming weeks.
Even during the busy holidays, please keep your pastors informed on how we can serve you and your family. Call (512.863.3065) or email the church office (church@zionwalburg.org) with any news to share. And if you need to miss a Sunday, you can always view the messages and worship services archived on our website: www.zionwalburg.org. Hope to see you this weekend at Zion!

Landscape Improvement Fund
The Board of Trustees are beginning the process to provide new landscaping within the asphalt driveways surrounding the Sanctuary/Worship Center (new building) to the South parking lot. The costs are estimated to be around $180,000. Therefore, the Landscape Improvement Fund will be created as a new church dedicated account to help fund these efforts. Please prayerfully consider donating to the Landscape Improvement Fund to help cover these costs to beautify Zion’s campus.
Fruitcakes & Cinnamon Pecans Sale
Lutheran Braille Workers would like to thank all of you that supported our recent Fruitcake & Cinnamon Pecan Sales. With the assistance of a $250.00 Thrivent Financials grant, we were able to raise $2,007.20. These funds will be used to purchase our supplies (paper, spirals, boxes, tape, etc.) so that Books of the Bible and other religious devotionals can be made and shipped all over the world. I would like to thank Faith, Georgetown; Trinity, Taylor; and St. Paul, Thorndale, who assisted with this sale.

But with billions of people still unreached with the Gospel message around the world, our work is not done. Therefore, we will not rest until...
1. Every person has the opportunity to hear the Gospel in an understandable way.
2. Those seeking are connected to a healthy Christian community where they can grow in their faith.
