Legacy Garden at Temple Hall Farm

Family Fun Day and Ribbon Cutting

2015 Summer Garden Project

Join us June 28, 2015 for FREE at Temple Hall Farms as we celebrate the beginning of a new era and open the Legacy Farms Summer Garden, a community demo/educational garden created to show off a variety of gardening techniques and teach adults with special needs valuable farming skills.

This summer Legacy Farms is hosting a select group of participants at Temple Hall Farm in our new Community Demo/Educational Garden. The 2015 Summer Garden Project is a pilot program that will demonstrate our hands-on approach to teaching adults with autism and other developmental and social challenges how to do a variety of garden/farming tasks such as:

  • Garden maintenance
  • Weekly harvesting
  • Package and distribution at a local farmers market
  • Event planning and set up
  • Organizing the Legacy Farms “Garden Party”

To celebrate this momentous occasion we will start of with an official "ribbon cutting" lead by town hero and Executive Director of Loudoun Interfaith Relief, Jennifer Montgomery. Once open you will have the opportunity to learn all about the program and meet a few of the people who have helped make it a success.

Our goal is to provide Northern Virginia with a new and much needed vocational resource for adults with disabilities, one centered around Virginia's largest industry, agriculture.

Legacy Farms is a local non-profit green care social venture dedicated to providing support services and agrarian based vocational training for adults with autism as well as those with developmental and social challenges.
