East Hampton Project Graduation--Spring Sprint (Virtually)
Every year the East Hampton Project Graduation committee hosts our "Spring Sprint" 5K race. We've had to get creative this year because of the unprecedented times we're in and decided to fund-raise for the East Hampton Food Bank.
100% of the registration fees will provide food and comfort to our community.
This years "Spring Sprint" will be a Virtual 5K.
A virtual race is run (or walked) at any location you choose. You can run on any day and at anytime during the race window. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, the trail, the treadmill, the gym, or the track. You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. Even better…download a FREE “Its Your Race” app at registration to use on your race day. The App tracks your run via GPS, and stops automatically when your race distance is reached. Then, it will send your ”verified” time up to the race results posted on ItsYourRace.com
I know our students are expected to stay fit and exercise daily while distance learning is taking place. I wanted to give you the opportunity to get your students and their families involved.
The cost is $10.00 per person and students 14 yrs. and under are free. Attached is the flyer for the event.
School Counseling Update
Today is the beginning of QTR 4 - use this week as a fresh start to the final marking period of the year. As distance learning continues PLEASE remember that your teachers are here to help - don't hesitate to reach out to them!
News from the Nurses Office
Hello families,
The nurse’s wanted to share with you some local resources that are available in case you weren’t aware of them.
Meals are being offered free of charge to all students of the East Hampton Public Schools and their siblings under 19 years of age. Family members can pick up their school meals in front of East Hampton High School. Children do not need to be in the car and families can have someone else pick up for them if they can’t make it at that time. Monday and Wednesday and Friday’s meal bags will include 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches for each child. Please note that due to low demand from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, we have changed our serving/pick up time to Noon to 1:00 PM in order to limit the amount of time our servers are out in public.
East Hampton Volunteer Food Bank is open Monday and Thursdays from 9-12. They are located at 43 West High Street. You don’t have to be a client, just bring a piece of mail or license proof that you are an East Hampton resident. If you need to make an arrangement call during their open hours at 860-365-5978 and they will be happy to help you. They also gladly take donations; so, if you are in a position to support them, please do so.
www.211ct.org is a United Way website with multiple resources including help with food, housing, income, utility assistance as well as health care, substance use and mental health resources.
If you are in need of services, please reach out to any of these resources. We will get through this together.
Stay home, if possible. Stay safe and stay well.

Art Department--Artist of the Month
Nalaeh Valley is a delightful young woman, whose quiet and thoughtful demeanor has flourished through her creative endeavors in my classroom. She pours her creative energy into every project that she has done, and has a strong ability to self-reflect. She actively seeks feedback and uses it to improve he own artistic practices. She has always helped to encourage a culture of creativity in my classroom through her willingness to help others and never gives up when she encounters a challenge. Nalaeh's work always shows attention to detail and it has been a pleasure to watch her grow over the past four years as an artist and a young woman.
