NEWSLETTER | TERM 3 | WEEK 7 | 1 SEPTEMBER 2023

Dear parents and caregivers,
Welcome to Spring!! How blessed are we to have had such beautiful weather this week! The students have thoroughly enjoyed spending lots of time outside taking advantage of the weather!
The Sacrament of First Holy Communion is one of my favourite sacraments as it adds another layer for our students on their spiritual journey. The masses over the last two weekends were lovely and the students all looked reverent and holy. Thank you to Mrs Curtis for preparing the students so well.
On Thursday, we celebrated all our dad’s, grandparents and father figures with a wonderful breakfast and coffee morning on the grassed area outside the Library followed by a fabulous Year Three Father’s Day Assembly. I really enjoyed watching the dads and grandfathers talking, laughing and interacting with their children and hearing comments along the lines of ‘that was the great morning’ was magical. A big thank you to our hardworking P&F committee for organising the breakfast and coffee van.
Next Thursday is our Faction Athletics Carnival. There is nothing better than a colourful sports carnival with lots of cheering and participation. Please adhere to the guidelines for the carnival, outlined below. Thank you to Mrs Clarkson for organising this big event. The carnival will commence at 9am.
As the weather warms up, please make sure that you have labelled your child’s jumper so that it can returned to them if left on the oval or in the undercover area. A couple of jumpers have been misplaced, therefore, I ask that you check your child’s bag just in case these have accidentally gone home with the wrong person. There is some lost property in the office if you are missing any uniforms.
A reminder to all parents and caregivers to please use the Kiss and Drive for drop off and pick up and not parking on the verge outside the main entrance gates. The safety of our students is very important, and they should only be exiting cars in the Kiss and Drive area not onto the main road. If you are using the main entrance for, drop off and pick up, please ensure you are adhering to the road rules and parking arrangements.
Finally, wishing all our fathers, heavenly fathers, grandfathers and father figures a lovely Father’s Day for Sunday. I hope you are thoroughly spoilt by your family in every way!
God bless
Rebecca Clarke

Religious Education News
Congratulations to all the Year Four students on receiving the Sacrament of Holy Communion at various masses over the weekend. May this special milestone deepen your faith and bring you abundant blessings throughout your journey of spiritual growth.
St Augustine
On Monday, 28 August we celebrated the feast of Saint Augustine, a Doctor of the Church and one of the most important theological writers of the 4th and 5th century. Saint Augustine has wrote many books and letters discussing various things and matters not only about faith but also about everyday affairs. We present to you five lessons that we can grab and ponder about from the life and works of Our Holy Father.

Eduction Assistant Appreciation Day
On Wednesday, 30 August we celebrated Eduction Assistant Appreciation Day with a special morning tea provided by the teaching staff, a hot coffee from Daily Grind Cafe and a special sweet gift from Rebecca Clarke. Thank you to all of our EA’s who go above and beyond everyday for our students and staff. We appreciate you! We hope you enjoyed your special day!

QCESR Principal Review
I was informed last week that there was an administration error with the QCESR Principal Review on the data end. This means that the survey that you completed is no longer able to be used for the review process. I know it’s very frustrating and we apologise for any inconvenience. This means that a new link has been provided, and we ask that you please complete the survey again.
