MIDWAY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL VISION
The vision of Midway Elementary School is for students to become self-directed, life-long learners who are responsible thinkers, collaborative workers, and productive citizens for the 21st century.
MIDWAY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MISSION
The mission of Midway Elementary School is to create a safe and nurturing learning environment, in collaboration with our community, which fosters the total development of every child.
January 27, 2017
As we have shared, the registration process has opened for 4K, 5K, and new 1st grade students for 2017-2018. Parents of students who qualify for 4K and are zoned for Midway will go to Lexington Elementary School to register. Parents will register all 5K and new 1st graders here at Midway. Please do register your children in these grades right away. The number of students attending determines the number of teachers. The sooner we know that we need an additional teacher the sooner we can hire and prepare for the success of these children. Please share this information with any neighbor or friend who has a child entering one of these grades. Thank you for your help!
I do want to celebrate that many of our teachers are placing educational projects online through "DonorsChoose". Teachers must write a proposal and then they are allowed to post if it meets approval. Several parents have inquired about this and shared a concern. Please know that teachers share this information with you to keep you informed. You are not "required" to participate. This website is open to the world and often business people or businesses support these projects. DonorsChoose projects is a way to seek financial sources beyond our school community. Please do not feel pressured when this is shared by your child's teacher.
Thank you, parents, for sharing worries and concerns so that I can help explain, address, or problem solve! We are a team!
Please note that Wednesday, Feb. 1, is a Collaborative Planning Day with dismissal at 11:40 am. Both breakfast and lunch will be served. If your child's transportation is going to be different, please send a note to his/her teacher. If you need MES Cares until 2:25 p.m. please do let the teacher know about this.
Have a wonderful weekend and read a great book with your child!
