Seguin Elementary School

This Week:

Literacy: We will recognize sensory details in literary texts.

Writing: We will write literary texts about real or imaginary texts and poems.

Math: We will count 1 to 120 forwards and backwards from any given number and introduce data collection.

Social Studies: We will continue our unit on our World and focusing on maps, directions, and locations.

Science: We will continue our rock unit and discuss how rocks are used in everyday life.

Spelling Words

This week we will have a mix of long a, long o, and long i words.

Long A examples: lake, fade

Long O examples: mole, hope

Long I examples: hide, bike

Christmas Craft Fair Donations Needed

First grade will be collecting items for a Spa themed basket. These baskets help raise money for Sequin Elementary. Please send any donations possible that would fit with a Spa theme.

Our Log Cabin Village Field Trip was a huge success. The 1st Grade teachers and all our little pioneers are grateful for all of our wonderful parent chaperones!

*Reading Homework: One Breath Boxes and read for 20 minutes per night, please sign your child's reading log. :)

*Math Homework: Addition with doubles, for example 2 + 2 = 4 or 6 + 6 = 12
