Adopt a Family Program for the Holidays
With the Other People Matter Mindset, Glengary will be adopting a few families this holiday season. We set up a Holiday tree decorated with tags in the shape of ornaments. Each tag will have an item needed for the families we adopt. We will also be accepting monetary donations and have volunteers who can shop for needed items, checks can be payable to Glengary PTA. Permission slips were sent home with students on 12/2 and will need to be brought back in order for students to select a tag from the tree. Gifts and monetary donations will be due in the main office no later than 12/13.
The Giving Tree will also be set up during Breakfast with a Buddy if you would like to help your child choose a tag.

Positivity Project -Kindness
Individuals with this strength might think, feel, or act as the following:
*All human beings have worth
*Other people are just as important as me
*Giving is more important than receiving
*People suffering or in need deserve care and compassion
Some ideas for families to use at home to support Kindness are:
*Do random acts of kindness for each other and friends and family nearby.
*Model kindness to family members, friends, and people you encounter when you are in the community (grocery store, library, sporting events, etc.)
*Give compliments to everyone in your family without expecting anything in return.
*Write kind notes to family and friends and deliver them with a smile and a hug.

Positivity Project-Humility
Next week students at Glengary will learn about the character strength, Humility. Humility is when you do not seek the spotlight. You let your actions speak for themselves. “A flower doesn’t compete with the flower next to it. It just blooms.”
Individuals with this strength might think, feel, or act as the following:
*You don’t brag about what you have done, you keep going and find something more to do.
*You are willing to admit that you don’t know it all and to say sorry when you are wrong.
*Humility is elevating the value of others.
*Modest
*Down to earth
Some ideas for families to use at home to support Humility are:
*Do something that makes someone’s day or helps someone without saying anything. Let the actions speak for themselves.
Books to read at home to reinforce humility:
