We are looking for family members who would like to volunteer in the Art room to help with the extra prep, management, and upkeep that clay demands. Please email Emily Carey if you are able to help out on any B Day at Kulshan. Thank you!
AAUW STEM Celebration

Our 2019 Tech Trek camp scholarship winners, Sydney Wolfson and Angelica Khizhnyak from Kulshan Middle School attended the meeting and celebrated with Ms. Laurie Mueller, one of our amazing KMS Science teachers!

Kulshan Food Pantry
Thank you for all of your donations to help get our food pantry up and running. Our food pantry was started last year as a resource to send home some easy to prepare food on the weekends for students in need. We are starting to identify students who are in need of this service and we would not be able to support them without all of you. We are still in need of items so that we have enough backstock to send students with food each weekend as needed. Please click this link to support. If your student would be helped by this service, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Jen Newbauer, school counselor, at: jennifer.newbauer@bellinghamschools.org
Gardening with Common Threads

Lost and Found Lunch Boxes
Parents and Students: Please write your name clearly on the outside or inside of your lunch box. Are you missing a lunch box? If lunch boxes remain in our lunch bin past the end of the school day, we place them in our Lost and Found Area in the Commons. (Along with all of our Lost & Found clothing) We donate Lost and Found items to local charities at the end of each month. If you cannot find your lunch box in the Lost and Found, please report this to our main office.
Oct. 30 - Nov. 1: Kulshan Book Fair!
Our Book Fair will be open to parents on the afternoon of Oct 31 and all day on November 1 during parent-teacher conferences times. If you have a conference those days, please stop on by! If you don't have a conference those days, stop on by anyway! We definitely need some parent help to make sure the fair runs smoothly. Please visit this SignUp Genius if you are able to volunteer during the fair! If you have any questions, please contact Adam Shaffer .
Oct. 9: Beyond the Birds and the Bees
Bellingham Public Schools will host Beyond the Birds and the Bees: Talking to Children about their Bodies, Sex and Relationships from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9 in the District Office Board Room, located at 1306 Dupont Street. This event is geared for families with children in grades 5 to 12. School staff and health professional guests will share with parents and guardians what schools teach about puberty and human sexuality and will discuss how to talk to teens about bodily changes, responsibility and respect. The HIV/AIDS (human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immune deficiency syndrome) curriculum will also be previewed on this same evening. Families are the first and best teachers for children. Talking to children about building healthy relationships, healthy communication, and the role sex plays in healthy relationships is important for lifelong well-being. This evening will support families in having important conversations with their children about sex and relationships. Please contact your school office if language interpretation services are needed. For more information, contact the wellness program at 360-676-6470, ext. 6533.
