The Week of December 12th....
Can you believe that Winter Break starts next week? School will be closed starting at 10:45am on Friday, December 16th and return to session on Wednesday, January 4th @7:45am.
When we return, we WILL be in our new facility. The address is 400 Clinchfield Street, Suite 220 (The 3rd floor of the Press building, downtown). Please note the returning schedule for students below. Feel free to email: shensley@k12k.com with any questions.
Also, if your student will be driving to DBE, please fill out and return the Parking Pass Form in order to receive a parking pass. Information regarding student drop-off and bus routes will be sent home this week.

Dobyns-Bennett EXCEL's Returning Schedule
The schedule will be as follows:
Wednesday, January 4th: 9th and 10th graders
Thursday, January 5th: 11th graders
Friday, January 6th: 12th graders
Monday, January 9th and Tuesday, January 10th: 9th and 10th graders
Wednesday, January 11th and Thursday, January 12th: 11th and 12th graders
On Tuesday, January 17th all students will attend.
*KCS is closed on Monday, January 16th in honor of MLK Day.
The City of Kingsport is Looking for a Few Good Men and Women to Serve as School Crossing Guards
The City of Kingsport is currently accepting applications for the position of School Crossing Guard. School Crossing Guards are part-time employees and serve as a division of the Kingsport Police Department. There are presently five (5) openings for this position.
The starting salary for a School Crossing Guard is $11.05 per hour. Crossing Guards work two hours (one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon) each day school is in session. Each School Crossing Guard is assigned to a different crosswalk area at one of the many schools throughout the City of Kingsport. Their primary duties are to direct traffic, both pedestrian and vehicular, through designated school crossing zones, and escort children across the street.
Applications for School Crossing Guard will be accepted through Sunday, December 18, 2016 and must be submitted online using the following link which is also accessible via the City of Kingsport’s website:
