Remember Teacher Assignment Given Out Through Parent Portal for 16-17 School Year
Again this year, teacher assignments will be posted on the Wentzville School District Parent Portal. All teacher assignments will be available to parents on the Parent Portal beginning Thursday, July 28, 2016.
Frequently Asked Questions:
How do I make changes to my contact information and email address?
Parents may make changes through the parent portal for their email, telephone numbers and emergency contacts. Addresses must be changed in person with office personnel.
Can I call and give my email address over the phone?
Email addresses may not be made over the telephone with the office staff.
What if I have forgotten my Parent Portal password?
Please call the office to request your password to be reset. Once the password is reset, you will receive an email with the Parent Portal login information.
What if I don't have access to Parent Portal?
Click this link: http://wentzville.k12.mo.us/file.php/44/ParentWebRegForm.pdf and complete the form. In order to initiate access, you will need to bring the completed form and an ID to the office. You will then receive an email with detailed instructions on how to access your child's information.
Kindergarten Orientation will be restructured this year. In the past, we had all parents and students come during the same window of time. The focus of the previous Kindergarten Orientation was to give an overview of school procedures and give a tour of the classroom. This year we would like to accomplish the previous focus and also complete many beginning of the year assessments in a 1:1 setting with your child. By doing these assessments this way, we will be able to start the year with the focus on building our classroom community. Our assessments will also be more valid as they will be given with just one student in the classroom instead of having a classroom full of students while assessing.
Kindergarten Orientation will take place this year on Tuesday, August 9th. Each family will sign up for one appointment for their child. The link to sign up will be sent with the teacher assignment. Please sign up as soon as you receive your link. Appointments will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 2:45 p.m. in the teacher's classroom. The appointment will be 15 minutes long. It is critical that families are prompt because appointments are scheduled back to back. The appointment will not be a parent teacher conference, and no results will be shared during this appointment due to time constraints. School supplies should not be brought to the appointment. All school supplies can be brought to Meet the Teacher on August 9th from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
During your child’s appointment, parents will complete a beginning of the year survey for your child’s kindergarten teacher. Also, families will view a short video message from Mr. Holler and Ms. Armbruster. The video message will explain important Lakeview procedures and explain what a typical day is like. After viewing the video message, families are welcome to stop by the main office with further questions.
Meet the Teacher Night
Lakeview will hold Meet the Teacher Night on Tuesday, August 9, 2016. Our students and parents will have the opportunity to meet teachers and receive a brief summary of the educational program for the school year. Due to parking limitations, last names that begin with the letters A-M will attend from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Last names beginning with the letters N-Z will attend from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Due to parking limitations, please consider carpooling. If your child will be a walker, give them the opportunity to become familiar with their route as a family. It is extremely important that they know whether they are a Westwind or Fox Ridge Subdivision walker.
Students are welcome to bring supplies to this evening.

Are you signed up for our LVE Family Remind account?
Your child's classroom teacher may also use Remind to communicate with you. If your teacher is using Remind, he/she will share his/her own Remind joining information. At Lakeview this year, all before and after school clubs will use Remind to communicate with families who are participating in the club. Teachers leading the club will give you the sign up code for the club.

What are the school hours?
Lakeview Elementary School begins instruction at 8:20 a.m. and concludes at 3:20 p.m.
What time do the front doors lock each day?
To keep our campus safe, the front doors are locked each day at 8:20 a.m. After this time, anyone wanting to enter the building must use the Aiphone. There is a link below that will take you to detailed directions on how to use. Everyone must show a photo identification in order to enter.
What is the earliest time a student can enter building?
Students are allowed to enter the building at 8:05 a.m.
What is the latest time I can pick up a student from the office for dismissal?
Students are not allowed to be picked up from the office after 3 p.m.
What is the best way to contact my child's teacher?
We ask you do not interrupt instruction. Throughout the school day teachers are engaged with students in the classroom, therefore the best way to contact them is by leaving a voicemail, sending a note, writing in the planner or by email. Our staff is committed to returning your calls and emails in a timely manner. Teachers are pleased to arrange an appointment during plan time, or before and after school to discuss your child’s academics or educational needs. To leave a voicemail for your child’s teacher, call the school at 636-332-2923, press the star (*) sign and enter the voicemail number for your child’s teacher to leave a message. If you do not know the number, push the pound (#) sign, enter the first few letters of the teacher’s last name and follow the directions given.
How does a late arrival to school work?
Students should be in the classroom by 8:20 a.m. When they arrive after that time they are considered tardy and will need to be signed in by a parent or guardian. They will be given a pass to class. While we understand that it is unavoidable for a student to be tardy on occasion, it is very important they be at school on time. Valuable instruction time is lost when children are late to class.
How does parent pick up work?
Parents, please be advised that the staff will not release your child for an early release after 3 p.m. Students should NOT be picked up at the end of the day to avoid the parent pick up line.
All students will be directed to the gymnasium for parent pick up. You are advised to stay in your vehicle and your child(ren) will be called and escorted out to your vehicle. We cannot express the importance that all students complete their full day of instruction.
How does perfect attendance work?
It is important to remember “perfect” means being here every minute of every day we have school. Any time a student is tardy or leaves early, counts against perfect attendance.
How can I volunteer in the school?
Lakeview Elementary is always happy to have parents volunteer in the classroom, or to assist with field trips. All volunteers must be approved by completing the District Volunteer Registration form and a child abuse search on file at school.
Volunteer forms should only be completed by those wishing to assist in the classroom or attend a field trip. Attending a school performance or having lunch with your child does not require a background check. Feel free to pick up a form from your child’s classroom on “Meet the Teacher” night on August 9, 2016 or visit the school or District website.
What supplies does my child need for school?
This link will take you to the WSD Supply Lists.

LVE Color Run Set for Saturday, October 8th
Please join us on October 8th for Lakeview’s first Color Run!
The Color Run will be held at Lakeview Elementary School. The color run is being held as a fundraiser to support Lakeview’s School-Wide PBIS team. In addition, it will be a great opportunity to build school and community spirit and to have some family fun.
Lakeview’s PBIS team creates the school’s den dollars, stocks and runs the Lion’s Den store with the support of parent volunteers, and organizes and runs the school’s quarterly recognition assemblies. The goal of PBIS is to promote positive behavior in all settings of our school.
This will be a 2 mile untimed fun run/walk with color splash stations along the way, and a color toss at the end. Beat the rush to pick up your race day t-shirt, color packet, and race bib on Friday, October 7th from 4:00-5:30 p.m. in the front lobby. Race day pick up will begin at 9:00 am and the race will begin at 10 a.m.
All registration for this event will be done online. As soon as registration is set up, we will email out the registration link and put it on the Lakeview website.
