BRIDGE VALLEY'S NEWSLETTER

A Note from Mr. Cochran and Mrs. Fantaskey
Welcome back to school Bridge Valley students and families. We are very excited to begin a new school year! This year promises to be an exciting one, filled with new learning experiences and enjoyable activities.
Literacy is at the heart of the elementary school educational experience, and this year we will be putting an even greater emphasis on the importance of reading in our lives at school and home. One of our building goals for 2016-2017 is to increase interest, stamina, volume, and passion for reading throughout Bridge Valley. Like our successful summer reading program, you will hear about more incentives that promote reading in the lives of our students. Look for information throughout the year highlighting efforts in promoting literacy.
In addition to the academic excellence we stress at Bridge Valley, we are committed to developing the whole child. It is essential that we raise our children to be independent, honest, and caring individuals who display perseverance and courage in their journey through life. Math, Reading, and Writing will be the skills they need in their backpacks to make the journey, but the character traits of respect, responsibility, collaboration, and citizenship that together we instill in our children will ensure their future success.
We look forward to working with you throughout the school year to provide the best learning experience possible for your child. It’s going to be a great year!

1) Consider purchasing the KidStuff book! Use just a few coupons and save more than the $25 cost of the book. Families love saving with hundreds of valuable coupons for shopping, activities and food.
On September 15th, keep an eye out for the KidStuff book to come home with your youngest child (only one book will be sent home per family).
