We will be focusing on biographies this week in kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade. During 3rd grade story time we will be reading January's Sparrow, by Patricia Polacco. During 2nd grade story time we will be reading Kate Shelley Bound for Legend by Robert D. San Souci. We will be reading Who Says Women Can't Be Doctors? The Story of Elizabeth Blackwell by Tanya Lee Stone during 1st grade story time. We will be reading On A Beam of Light A Story of Albert Einstein by Jennifer Berne during kindergarten story time.

On Friday we will see:
3rd Grade Burch and Fox - We will continue with our mystery genre. We will finish reading a short mystery and identifying the elements that meet the mystery genre criteria.
2nd Grade Larson and Foster - We will finish our lessons on call numbers. The students will find the general area where their book would belong and then we will find the specific spot their book belongs.
1st grade Weller and Lange - We will be looking at resources in non-fiction books to help prepare them for their dinosaur project.
Kindergarten Shannon and Thatcher - We will review fiction and what helps us determine if a book is fiction. We will then learn about non-fiction books.

We will see Mr. Brummet's and McFargo's classes on Monday (Mrs. Crymble will be my sub on Monday) and we will See Mrs. Catlin's and Mrs. Galindo's classes on Wednesday for library lessons.
During 4th grade lessons this week we will set our reading goals for the second semester, we will finish our scavenger hunt in the library and then decide who will talk about each question on their scavenger hunt that will be presented to their class at our next meeting.
During 5th grade lessons the students will check their Dewey Decimal shelf. Each group will discuss what they can include on their 8 1/2 " x 11" poster for their shelf. They will also create a script about their shelf that will be videoed.

I will be at the middle school half days Tuesday through Thursday. I will be at the middle school Wednesday afternoon and Tuesday and Thursday morning. Tasha Siemers will be working Monday through Wednesday all day and she will be in the library Friday morning.
We have scheduled class checkouts on Tuesday 6th hour (Mrs. Hallberg), Wednesday 3rd hour through 6th hour (Mrs. Yenni), and Thursday 1st hour through 3rd hour (Mr. DeBauche). During 8th hour on the following days, Monday (Mrs. Blake), Tuesday (Mrs. Hallberg), Wednesday (Mrs. Yenni), and Thursday (Mrs. Roth) the 6th grade language arts classes will be in the library for checkout.
