Read Across America
Let's Read
Participate!
We are celebrating NEA’s Read Across America. NEA’s Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss. Originally created as a one-day event to celebrate the joy of reading, Read Across America, sponsored by NEA and Dr. Seuss Enterprises, L.P., has grown into a nationwide initiative that promotes reading every day. More than 45 Million people young and old participate annually in the literacy program, now in its 16th year. This should be a very important topic addressed by everyone to build a better American nation, so what are you waiting for you can get involved too! Ridgeway High, students can donate a new children's book on or before March 1st either to Ms.Holden or Ms.Flowers, or contact your local education association, library, bookstore, or local chapter of a national NEA’s Read Across America partner organization about events that are taking place in our community.
