How Do You Use Your Frindle?
Sandhills Elementary. One Book. One School.
What is a Frindle?
During the month of April, our entire school will be reading Frindle, the award-winning novel by beloved children's author Andrew Clements. Frindle is the story of Nick Allen, a fifth grader who wonders, "What if I could invent a brand new word?" Nick unexpectedly turns a class assignment about the dictionary into a school-wide movement, and soon the entire school is calling a pen a "frindle"! This book is a wonderful tale of creativity, teamwork, and imagination.
Help Us Kick Off Our Frindle Celebration!
We want to know how YOU use YOUR frindle! Record a 5-10 second video of you telling us how you use your frindle in your everyday life, and email it to us by April 2, 2016 at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Be as creative as you'd like! Some ideas to get you started:
"I use my frindle to autograph books!"
"I use my frindle to draw creepy monsters!"
"I use my frindle to perform magic tricks!"
We can't wait to see what you come up with!
Sandhills Elementary School is located in rural South Carolina. We serve over 500 students in 3rd and 4th grades, many of whom come from high poverty. Our students are smart, strong, funny, and determined! We are excited to see how Frindle impacts their lives for the better.
