Lowell Memo: Issue #29
April 20, 2017
Published by Lowell School & the Lowell PTA
The Wheaton College Mile is coming Wednesday, April 26!
The Wheaton College track is a community gem with which we hope our students will become more familiar and enjoy as long as they live nearby. Our mile run is a nice introduction to the track for those who don't get to visit it much. It is also a great fitness activity for those who do. We will run in any weather except for heavy rain/thunderstorms. The students should come prepared with whatever they think they will need, whether it's a water bottle or a sweatshirt.

Ask any Lowell student what one of their favorite days of the year at Lowell is.......and they will say Discovery Day!
Discovery Day will be on Tuesday, May 30th this year and plans are underway! Discovery Day is held during the last week of school and it is an opportunity for our students to grow, stretch, learn, discover, and try activities by introducing them to new and unique learning opportunities.
During the morning of Discovery Day, students will participate in three activities. Discovery Day is a collaborative effort made up of parent/family volunteers, teachers, staff and some outside vendors. We need leaders, co-leaders, assistants, and helpers to make this day a success! If you have a hobby, talent or special interest you would like to share with the students OR if you just want to be part of a really fun morning at Lowell please join us! All are welcome and appreciated! Volunteer sign up sheets have been sent home. The sign up sheet is also linked (click here) here for your review. Please return them to the office as soon as possible so we can include you. If you have any questions, please contact Barbara Razzino (babsrazz@mac.com) or Kim Swallow (kswallow98@gmail.com).
Also, the Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon will take place immediately after Discovery Day again this year. Please join us as we honor all of the volunteers (classroom, LLC, PTA, etc) that have worked so hard to make it another great year at Lowell.
We are also looking for Field Day volunteers. Field Day occurs in the afternoon on May 30th and we need volunteers to assist the PE teachers. It is an afternoon full of action and fun!
