Vasco da Gama

Vasco da Gama is from Spines, Portugal. Da Gama was the third son of Estevao da Gama, a minor provincial noble man who was commander of the fortress of Sines on the coast of Alentejo province in southwestern Portugal. He sailed fo John's successor, KIng Manual 1. Da Gama explored from 1460 - 1524. Vasco da Gama was the first European to reach India by sea.

He sailed down the Eastern Coast of Africa, up to to Western Coast of Africa, and then back down and around.
Purpose/ Outcome of his voyages
The purpos of Da Gama's voyages was to search for a maritime route from Western Europe to East. The outcome of his voyages is that he found new routes from Europe and Asia.
What he discovered
Vasco da Gama discovered an ocean route that connected Europe and Asia, as well as linking the Atlantic and the Indian ocean's entirely and definitively.
