What Are We Learning About?

Language Arts: This week we were learning more about trees and flowers. We had so many books to read about planting flowers and gardens. We also talked about words that end in "ed" and practiced writing more about our opinions. We read a classic book titled, The Giving Tree and the students had to write on wether they liked the book or not and why. Our words of the week was a big one, "because". We practiced writing it each day as it helped us with explaining our opinions as well.

Math: We worked on finding the missing number of an equation by playing "hide the chips" and our partners had to count on to figure out how many were taken. We also practiced the strategy of counting on to add.

Science: We continued to learn about the weather and the seasons. We learned a catchy new song about the seasons in order. Ask your child to sing the chorus to you. Here is a link to the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-zOCgn5CyA

We are working on our Weather booklets each day and will finish those up next week.
