Read All About It!
Digital Learning Day was a new learning experience as Mrs. Hargett conducted some informative sessions for parents and Mrs. Fox introduced 3rd Graders to Coding.
Lots of reading has been going on with the BINGO Reading Incentive. The students are excited about the Sock Hop that will be taking place as a reward for their hard work.
Read Across America (in celebration of Dr. Seuss) will be celebrated the week of February 29-March 4th. The theme for the week will be "I'll Bet on My Pet". Here's some exciting events taking place:
*Various staff members will be reading to their pet and videoing themselves to be viewed by our students
*Daily-D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read)
*Students: Take a picture of you and your pet (or stuffed animal), upload to Schoology so we can make a video
*Cutest Pet Contest (judged form the pictures the students bring)
*Teachers will assign special Achieve3000 lessons about animals and pets
A new reading incentive (district initiated), Read Strong, campaign begins on March 7 and will end on April 22nd. (Details to be sent at a later date). Prizes will be awarded at the school level and for each 25 points earned, students' names will be placed in a drawing for a Kindle.
The Spring Book Fair will take place the week of March 14-18. There will be daily drawings for those who purchase books for Book Fair Credit. On March 17, Dads will be invited to shop with their child during the Doughnuts for Dads event beginning at 7:30. All are invited to shop Monday - Thursday from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. See you there!
Did you go to the Intimidators Baseball Game last year? We are offered this great opportunity again this year! When students read, they will get a free seat at an evening baseball game. Other family members pay only $3.00...what a bargain!!! Details to follow.
