Plasma Membrane and Cell Transport

By Lillian DeMarco, Sarah Yeung, Kruti Taylor & Priya Soni

Transport Processes

Passive Transport:

Simple diffusion - no protein, higher concentration to lower concentration

Facilitated diffusion - requires protein, higher concentration to lower concentration

Active Transport:

Active transport - requires protein, low concentration to high concentration, uses ATP

Endocytosis - vesicle formation, moving in towards the cell

Exocytosis - moving toward outside of cell, vesicle formation
