Hillcrest Elementary School
June 11, 2021- Summer Edition
Dear HCE Families,
I hope that everyone is doing well with an excitement about summer vacation. I don't think that it's a stretch to write that this was a very challenging school year. But I'd rather not focus on the obstacles that were faced. Instead, my hope is that children recall this school year positively with memories of their friends and being part of so many fun activities.
The children and adults will no doubt remember the parts of the year related to pandemic issues. But it's also important to remember that there were so many successes. The children worked so hard and demonstrated both growth and achievement in countless areas. Working with your children has been so rewarding and so enjoyable, and the staff and I realize that we were able to keep the children safe and learning because of the support from families. We’re all grateful for the trust and support that you’ve provided us during this school year.
Personally, I would like to thank each of you for your support and kindness throughout the last six months. I have enjoyed getting to know so many new kids and parents since I started in my new role in January. I have been at Hillcrest since 2002, and I have loved every day that I have been here. As I make my way across the District to Welch Elementary, Hillcrest will forever remain in my heart. I wish you a fun and relaxing summer with your family.
ROARing about our "PAW"some kids!
We are excited to celebrate the amazing efforts of our students who exemplify what our ROAR Rules encourage: Respect for All, Obey Safety Rules, Act Responsibly and Ready to Learn. Please help us congratulate the following students who have been honored these past two weeks. They have all earned a place on our Hillcrest Wheel. We would like to give a special thanks to our PTO who has helped support our rewards!
