Spirit Week Highlights
Welcome Mrs. Lunsford ~ General Aide
Hello! My name is Jayne Lunsford. I live in Muskego with my husband and our three children. Madelyn is in 2nd grade at Mill Valley, Katelyn is in 8th grade at Lake Denoon and Lane is a junior at Muskego High school. My focus has been teaching children ranging from 8 weeks - 12 years of age for 14 years. I am thrilled to join Mill Valley and be part of their stellar team.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my active family. We love hiking, camping, bike riding, traveling and cooking.
*Remember - Phy Ed & Music will be held outside as much as possible. Please make sure your student is dressing for the weather*
RESET MindBody
For the next 10 weeks on a designated day each week, Reset MindBody, a local organization, will be teaching mindfulness lessons in your child’s classroom. In an effort to keep you informed about these lessons, and as a way to encourage you and your child to use the tools he/she learns, Reset will be providing a weekly newsletter that outlines the concepts and practices your child has been taught in each lesson.
We hope you find the newsletter to be a valuable tool in supporting your child’s well-being. Practicing the tools your child has learned, with them, is a great way to spend time with your child and experience the benefits of the lessons.
Picture Retake Day - Wednesday, October 14th

Opportunity to Recognize
Let’s keep the recognition of our amazing teachers and principals coming. Nominations of Wisconsin PK through 12 teachers and principals can now be submitted online at www.kohleducation.org for the 2021 Herb Kohl Education Teacher Fellowship and Principal Leadership awards. Please consider nominating one of our staff members for their countless efforts in serving our students, staff and community. The deadline for submission is Tuesday, October 13, 2020, 5:00 p.m. Central.
Teachers or principals must be nominated by a parent, student, other teacher, community member, or school administrator. To be eligible, Wisconsin teachers and principals in grades PK - 12 must plan to continue in their current capacity for at least one year. The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Fellowship rewards teachers who have demonstrated superior ability to inspire a love of learning in their students, have motivated others, and have provided meritorious service both in and outside the classroom. The Principal Leadership Award recognizes and supports principals who demonstrate administrative leadership and positively influence school culture.

PTO September Dine Out Night
PTO would like to thank all our families and friends who joined us for “Family Dine Out Night” at the Marx Pioneer Inn. We raised $400! Stay tuned for details on our next event on October 14th at Lucky’s Spitfire.
Mill Valley PTO Family Events & Fundraising
Although we have not been able to hold many of our favorite PTO events this fall, we are looking for ways to provide our students fun opportunities while still being safe. We are also still offering ways to fundraise which we hope you will find value in so that we can continue to support our students, staff, and community as we always have, just in different ways! In order to allow for the flexibility these times require, we will be providing updates via this weekly newsletter, the MV PTO Facebook page, and brochures/flyers sent home with your students rather than publishing a calendar for the time being.
FREE Pop’s Corn Maze & Donut (because your PTO loves YOU)!
As an alternative to a fall event, the PTO is providing a voucher for admission for one student and one adult to the corn maze at Pop’s Marketplace (formerly Basse’s) and an apple cider donut! Vouchers will be sent home next week and will be good through the end of October!
Gourmet's Delight Cheesecake Fundraiser
Next week, information will be sent home regarding a fundraiser we are doing with Gourmet’s Delight Cheesecake, Inc. starting on Oct. 5th.
Orders are due on October 19th.
Pick up will be the week of November 16th...just in time for the holidays!
Click on the link to preview the available items for order:.http://gourmetsdelight.com/premium/cheesecakes/
