Old Dominion

Elementary Pre k-6

At Old Dominion University they have the Darden College of Education which prepares distinguished professionals to become leaders in their fields. Researching this college and the program they have in teaching really inspires me to do my best now and enter the program once I finish my two years at TCC.

  1. Old Dominion is very diverse. I recommend this school to anyone willing to tackle a promising education.
  2. The people I have met and become very good friends are amazing. And with downtown Norfolk so close, there is always something to do. It is difficult for freshman students to get around because of the no car policy. But bus passes are free and there is always an upperclassman willing to give carpool rides. Norfolk has so much to offer with its shopping and all the different tourist attractions. There are also many restaurants and clubs to keep students entertained on the weekends.
  3. We finally have a football team which adds great atmoshpere and a good sense of community in the fall. There are many events to participate in such as bingo, silly crafts, and games and they are free! The community is not the safest but around campus is nice, and there is not much to ever worry about.
  4. The teachers here are witty, polite, funny and extremely caring. All of my professors really made an awesome impression on me and I'm looking forward to taking more of their classes.

Public University

I am actually glad that i got the opportunity to do this assignment because it gave me the opportunity to actually research more of what my teaching degree will consist of. In order to pursue my dream of becoming an educator i need to complete 57 credits for odu. Taking the time to research my major really helped me so i will know what i need to complete for two years at TCC.
