Dear Kindergarten families,
We are already planning for and getting excited about this coming August, when your child will be joining us as a Kindergartner!
To that end, I am writing to invite your child to attend our Kindergarten Camp this summer!! Kindergarten Camp is a special time during which your child is able to become more familiar with our teachers, with their future classmates, and with our building. We really hope that your child will be able to attend because it truly helps to create a great foundation on which to build a wonderful Kindergarten year.
Please complete the google form or call our administrative technician (Ms. Wilkerson) at 434.245.2418 as soon as possible to indicate your selection of one of two days during which your child will attend Kindergarten Camp on Monday, August 8th or Wednesday, August 10th from 9:00-11:00am.
Even if your child is unable to attend Kindergarten Camp please call and let Ms. Wilkerson know because we want to ensure that we have reached everyone!
Kindergarten Camp will take place during your designated day, and will begin with welcoming our students in our school lobby, after which our teachers will take the Kindergartners down to their classrooms. Students will engage in some fun get-to-know-you activities with all teachers, be introduced to several routines that are common between our K classes, and have a short tour of parts of our school and a quick bus ride. It will definitely be a fun-filled morning!
While our Kindergartners are downstairs becoming acclimated to all-things-Kindergarten, I will hold a presentation for our families detailing everything you’ve ever wondered about Kindergarten (and probably some things you haven’t!), from the broad academic expectations to the nitty-gritty of where your child will board the bus after school, and everything in between! We will be sure to reserve some time in which you may ask any additional questions that you have.
