Veteran's Day Drive-Thru Breakfast

On Veteran's Day Aramark teamed up with Horizon Science Academy to provide free breakfasts to our Veterans. Mr. Wenzell's Kindergarten class made thank you cards for our Veterans to receive with their hot breakfast. Their artwork really brightened their day! Our Art Club also create a beautiful banner to hang outside for them, but unfortunately the rain prohibited us from hanging it up. If you would like to see their artwork, head over to our social media pages and check it out! Despite the weather we really enjoyed giving back to those who sacrificed so much for us.

CYSP Visits Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

Our CYSP groups were able to take their first field trip since 2020 when The Covid-19 Pandemic began. This was such a wonderful experience for our students. The weather was especially gorgeous for a November day. Our kids enjoyed spending the Saturday with friends and teachers, and completing a zoo scavenger hunt. Thanksgiving Drive

We want to extend a gracious thank you to all the staff, families, & community members that made our Thanksgiving Drive a success this year. Thanks to our families, and Fligner's Market, we were able to provide Thanksgiving dinners for 17 families in our school. It is such a joy to be able to watch our school community come together and support one another. Thank you to the Parent Engagement Committee here at Horizon Science Academy of Lorain, especially Mrs. Farley, who helped make this project possible.

Roaring 2022's- High School Dance

On November 18th Horizon Lorain was able to host it's first High School dance since the pandemic. The theme was Roaring 2022's and the 9th-11th grade students enjoyed coming together for a fun evening right before the break!

Class of 2023 Visits The University of Akron

Our seniors actually stepped foot on a college campus, The University of Akron on November 7th. They were able to see the campus alive and buzzing with activity. One benefit of visiting campuses is the motivation it provides students to do necessary preparation to be admitted to the college they aspire to. Visiting dorm buildings, large student unions, soccer & football stadiums, and the student recreation and wellness center helped our seniors get excited about their own not-so-future college experiences. The tour ended with lunch together in Rob's Hall. Our Seniors are looking forward to another on campus experience in December.
