Palencia is a city south of Tierra de Campos, in northwest Spain, the capital of the province of Palencia is in the community of Castile and León. The city had a population of 80,178 as of 2014.

Palencia is a place where many festivals and celebrations are hosted.
CHURCH OF SAN MARTÍN DE FRÓMISTA
This is one of the purest examples of Spanish Romanesque. It was built by Doña Mayor, the widow of Sancho Mayor, King of Navarre, and has been the spiritual resting place of the pilgrims on the road to Santiago.
CASTILLA CANAL
This is one of the most important things in Palencia and it took almost one century to build. It covers a total of 207 km. The reason behind this canal was to end the isolation of the area of Castile-León and to connect it with the ocean.
