The Leader in Me at Siegrist Elementary School

Siegrist Elementary School is studying The Leader in Me program (based on Stephen Covey’s work The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People) as an introduction to personal leadership. We believe all students have the capacity to lead in their own lives and affect those around them by making positive choices. This leadership opportunity helps students learn practical character and life skills that will lead to those positive choices. As we embark on this journey, we understand the importance of sharing this work with our families. Each month, we will be introducing one of the 7 Habits in our parent newsletter as well as activities and discussions our families can practice at home.

One of the ways all of our students are gaining leadership experience this year is through our Student Innovation Teams. Students meet every PLC day with their teams to discuss and plan ways to improve their school community. Our first product from one of these innovation teams was the development of a school mission statement. This was created by our Siegrist students and is said every day together at the beginning of the school day:

We the students of Siegrist will work together to become leaders

by showing good character traits and practicing the 7 Habits.

We will have fun, work hard, and do our best to reach our goals

and change the world into a better place.

Parent Teacher Conference Sign Up Reminder

We are providing the link again, so families who haven't had a chance to sign up will have access. Please visit the sign up link HERE to see the available time for a parent/teacher conference. We always shoot for 100% attendance so thank you for prioritizing your hectic evening schedules to make time for us to share the great things we know about your child.

Siegrist Health Room

Our health room is accepting donations for new or gently used pants for boys and girls youth sizes 4-12. If you would like to donate, please send the items to school with your child and have them take them to the health room. Thank you!

The Watch D.O.G.S. program is beginning at Siegrist!

Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) are fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, uncles, or other male figures who volunteer for one school day or a half-day to be a positive male role model for our students. Their presence helps to provide a safe and caring environment at Siegrist Elementary and we cannot wait to have them join us!

Beginning in mid-September, WatchDOG volunteers will be serving in our building. The WatchDOG of the day will be announced in the morning, take a picture with their child to be displayed on our watchdogs bulletin board (in the gym hallway), and receive their schedule for the day. This schedule will also be emailed to staff members prior to their arrival. To sign up to volunteer for a half day or full day, please use the following link:
