Sunset Newsletter

September 2020

From the desk of Dr. McDaniel

What a great but very different start to the 2020-2021 school year! I appreciate all the patience and grace you have granted us as we maneuver through this new and unusual time.

For those of you who are new to Sunset, WELCOME! We are so happy to have you. Just so you know, your child is being taught by the best teachers around! I am very proud of the staff of positive, professional educators who make learning relevant and fun!

September is going to be a great month and I look forward to continuing the positive momentum we have right now. Please continue to ask your child what we are learning or practicing at school. They should be able to tell you about a lot of GREAT learning happening at school.

Ms. Radford retired last year so we have a new Assistant Principal this year, Mr. James Pratt. Mr. Pratt has many years as an Assistant Principal in Edmond Public Schools and we are confident that he will bring lots of valuable information and knowledge to our school.

We know that this is year is going to be very different than any other year. The teachers, Mr. Pratt and I are committed to doing the very best for your students. We are constantly working on plans and ways to incorporate learning while still maintaining social distances. Please know that we are here to answer any questions that you might have regarding your students education and goals.

New Car Rider Tags

We have a new car rider tag system. Each student has been issued a number with a hanging tag for your mirror. If you are picking up your student as a car rider you must have this tag. There are no exceptions. If you have not already picked up your car tag number you can come into the office to pick it up. Families will all have the same number EXCEPT for Pre-K. Pre-K students will have their own number because they dismiss before the main building. There is an example of the car tag below.
