Chavez Movement

  1. The United Farm Workers (UFW) was created in 1962 to improve immigrant work conditions get immigrants rights
  2. They did non-violent protests and huger strikes which were very effective
  3. They boycotted California Table Grapes (1970 labor agreement growers and workers)
  4. Chavez went on a 25 day fast to protest violence in the union
  5. After 1976 Chavez led the union through a major reorganization, intended to improve efficiency and reach to the public.

Why I Chose this

Chavez tenaciously devoted himself to the problems of some of the poorest workers in America for 30 years. The movement he inspired succeeded in raising salaries and improving working conditions for farm workers in California ,Texas, Arizona, and Florida.
