The president nominated candidates for federal judge ships. Those candidates then had to be approved or rejected by the Senate. Washington wrote about the importance of

George Washington tried to make peace between both french and British and some criticized.
Washington made the neutral proclamation meaning the united states would not take sides with any European country, and Washington thought it was the safest but others thought not even Madison he said that Washington should not have made this proclamation with out the approval of congress. The British would pay damages on seized American ships and abandon their forts on the northwestern frontier. The United States agreed to pay debts it owed the British.
George Washington sent pickney to discuss the border problem with new Orleans and it actually worked and they worked out the pickney's treaty.
Finally when he was retiring he spoke about what he believed were the greatest dangers to the American republic. Among these were the dangers of foreign ties and political con- flicts at home. Washington warned against forming permanent ties with other coun- tries because choosing sides could draw the United States into war. The nation would try to follow a course of non-involvement for another century, but some involvement with other governments seemed unavoidable. He also worried about growing politi- cal conflicts within the nation. Washington believed that disagreements between political
groups weakened government. Political unity, he said, was a key to national success. Wash- ington left office warning the nation to work out its differences and protect its indepen- dence. He and his supporters believed that putting Jefferson in office was a huge mistake and that his studies in science would destroy organized religion, and democrats believed he would do similar stuff like the British.
He wanted to follow Washington footsteps and win the people's trust to become a good president like George Washington
At first he did not seem well suited for president he lacked Washington’s dignity, and most people saw him as a cold and distant person.Even those who opposed him— respected Adams. They recognized his hard work, honesty, and intelligence.
Adams thought ahead and created 16 new federal judgeship that President Adams filled with Federalists.

A treaty was signed for Louisiana to the United States in exchange for 15 million dollars . He also could have lost Louisiana to British and he no longer needed Louisiana.
Pros-Would double the country's size at a bargain price for just 2 to 3 cents an acre. Got New Orleans and had control of the Mississippi river
large county was impossible to govern. 15 million dollar price tag. We are to give money of which we have to little. The states might get to much power and could overrule the government.

He was commander of the war and so in July 1812 was was fought between the u.s. and Britain in September 1813 control of lake Erie then in august and December 14 a treaty was sign which ended the Creek war,in January 15 battle of new Orleans was fought.The treaty of Ghent was signed in Belgium on December 24 which ended the war of 1812 he helped as commander and they looked up to him.
They both were appointed by two different presidents and always opposed each other

for the Monroe doctrine Monroe feared that rival European powers might try to take control of newly independent Latin American countries. He was also concerned about Russia’s interest in the northwest coast of North America. now some people criticized this but he wanted the best for everyone so the document was an exclusive statement of American policy warring European powers not to interfere with the u.s.
Monroe assembled it and Henry he wanted To build the economy, Clay pushed for a national bank that would provide a single currency, making interstate trade easier. And the lessons learned in the War of 1812 led many to think that a national bank would stabilize the economy. Clay wanted the money from a protective tariff to be used to improve and build roads and canals.
