Assistive Technology Windows
Magnifier
Operation
The magnifier tool provided by Windows is a great piece of assistive technology that enlarges parts of the computer screen to make the information easier to see. There are three different options for how to use this tool.
Full Screen Mode
Full Screen Mode enlarges the entire page.
Lens Mode
Lens mode provides a small square around your mouse that enlarges only that section.
Docked Mode
Docked mode only enlarges one section at a time as per your choosing.
Classroom Usage
This tool is useful not only for students with vision disabilities, but also for students looking to "zoom in" on information. If they are presenting information to the class they can use this tool to draw the audience in to a specific piece of a webpage. Also, in this day and age devices are being made smaller and smaller causing eyes to be strained. This tool will help eliminate that issue.
Accessing the Magnifier
In order to access the magnifier tool using Windows simply go to the Ease of Access Center located on the Control Panel.
