Colgan CFPA Booster News

Spring/Summer 2018

Welcome!

Dear Colgan High School CFPA Families,

On behalf of the Colgan High School (CHS) Center for Fine and Performing Arts (CFPA) Booster Officers and Members, I extend to you the warmest welcome. We are excited for you to embark on your specific CFPA Program! To celebrate, please join us on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 12:00-3:00 pm at the Colgan CFPA First Annual Welcome Picnic. Additional information will be coming soon; please save the date.

The CHS CFPA Booster is a non-profit organization comprised of dedicated parents, guardians, teachers, students, school administration and community members. The CFPA Booster supports ALL Colgan High School Center for Fine and Performing Arts concentrations.

Our goals and objectives are to:

  • Support, recognize and increase awareness of the efforts of our CFPA programs and CFPA students
  • Provide additional opportunities and resources to our CFPA programs and CFPA students for school activities that may not be funded, or only partially funded, by Colgan High School.

During the 2017-2018 school year, the CFPA Booster’s very first accomplishment was the establishment of the CHS CFPA Council, thereafter formally launched as the CHS CFPA Booster. We were able to raise over $5,000. With it, we subsidized the First Annual CFPA Student Banquet, awarded two $500 student scholarships, paid for master classes, and provided CFPA graduation certificates. In addition, CFPA Booster collaborated with the CFPA Student Council in sponsoring a spirit wear design contest, assisted in the First Annual CFPA 24 hour Lock-in, and participated in the CHS Back-to-School Night, the CHS Spring Festival, and the “Embark with the Sharks” night, all of which shared important information on the CFPA programs and promoted CFPA activities.

For the 2018-2019 school year, we hope you will join with us in our many planned events and in raising $10,000. With your help, we can increase the number of master classes, the number of student scholarships for school field trips, and the number of post-secondary scholarships for graduating seniors.
