Parent Input Forms are Due Today!!

Every year students are considered for Talented and Gifted services in the Beaverton School District. If you think your child might qualify, you may wish to complete the Parent Information Form, which is available in the school office or on the BSD Website https://www.beaverton.k12.or.us/depts/tchlrn/Pages/TalentedAndGifted.aspx. Completing this form gives Findley's TAG committee more information about your child, but is not required. All qualified students will be considered regardless of the form's completion. The Parent Information form should be submitted to the office by the end of the day (4:00pm) on Friday, October 12, 2018 for its consideration. Late forms will not be accepted. TAG testing will occur Nov. 5th-8th. Please look at Findley’s website for further information on TAG. Forms are in the office or attached. The date for the Cogat Screener at Findley is October 16th.

Findley Fall Festival: Friday October 19th from 5 – 8pm

“Happy Fall Y’all!!! The Findley Fall Festival is on Friday, Oct 19th from 5:00-8:00. Kids and adults are encouraged to wear costumes to the FFF, but please do not wear costumes during regular school hours as it can be a big distraction to learning. Also, please leave gory costumes/masks and any toy weapons at home, this is a family friendly event. Thanks to the PTO and your Dragon Dash donations, this event has free admission! Thank you for your support! The 5th graders will be selling: cheese pizza, bottled water, candy, donuts and popcorn. The proceeds from the food sales benefit the Findley 5th grade activities- cash only, come hungry! At the Fall Fest there will be a DJ, dance floor, candy corn estimation contest and a performance by Elite Dance Studio. There will also be fall crafts & books in the library. BE THERE or BEWARE!

Volunteers are “spook-tacular", sign up on MVP to help with Fall Fest set-up from 3 – 4pm and clean up from 8 – 8:30pm on Friday, Oct. 19th. Questions? Dana Rodman dana.n.rodman@gmail.com

Big picture

Findley Art Literacy

This month in Art Literacy your student will be introduced to the art of Beatrix Potter (1866-1943). She is best known for writing and illustrating children’s books such as The Tale of Peter Rabbit.

Findley students will be creating a drawing inspired by the imaginative and detailed art of Beatrix Potter. Watercolor pencils will be used to add color and visual interest to their work. Make sure to ask your child about their artistic process!

Thank you for your support!

  1. Please do not drop off students before 8:15. We do not have staff on duty until 8:15 so if they are dropped off before 8:15 they are unsupervised.
  2. Please contact your day care if your child is sick! Our office is getting many calls from the day care looking for students that are not in school because of illness
  3. Please contact the office by 2:30 if you need to change a child's go home plans. We cannot always contact your child's teacher during dismissal time.
