Carrying on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's legacy
Dear Glazier Families,
It is timely that we honor Dr. King at a time that perseverance and courage is needed given the current surge. During these difficult times, the Glazier spirit is intact, to never give up, to show up every day, and to keep fighting to maintain a supportive learning environment for our students. Our staff's tenacity and ability to keep pushing through any obstacle is so admirable. Each staff member truly works to have a direct impact on the emotional and academic health and well-being of our Gladiators: I am so thankful to each and every one for keeping our momentum going! As we move through this surge, many of us will be sidelined for a moment, and that's when it's so appreciated to have others who step up and step in to keep routines and support intact. Go Team Glazier!
As we move through this surge, it has certainly been a busy time of contact tracing and follow-up to help maintain a safe, healthy campus while also keeping those off-campus informed of next steps. This week we officially start the upgrade of medical-grade mask wearing rather than the cloth masks: Now more than ever, please continue following the guidelines of mask wearing inside and outside of classrooms when social distancing cannot occur, and maximize social distance amongst each other--6 feet or more--so that we minimize transmission and contact tracing. If you or a close contact to your child(ren) test positive, please notify us immediately: We need to follow guidelines on the district and county assessment forms and send out notifications accordingly. Thank you.
We have Parent Conferences 1/24-1/28, which results in Minimum Day schedule all week/12:45 dismissal. Teachers will be connecting with times and dates so we can maintain wonderful communication for our home-school partnerships.
Tomorrow and all this week, we have the opportunity to pause and celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the legacy of service and love he leaves behind. He would have been 93, and he died when he was just 39: What an amazing impact he has had beyond his years of life! As the quote says, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." Thank you for your dedication to making Glazier an equitable environment for all students, staff, and families to thrive!
Have a wonderful, safe, and healthy week!

Digital Citizenship and Online Safety Lessons
Last week was our Digital Literacy Week, 1/10-1/14: Some classrooms are continuing into this week as they wrap up lessons. There are 3 lessons in grades TK-2 and 6 lessons in 3-5. If you have any questions as kids discuss these online safety lessons with you, please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher.
Grades 3-5 Families: Our iPad swap day was a terrific success! For students who were absent, our team will work with returning students on Thursday and Friday to check out new items and return their current iPad, charging block, and cord. Thanks for making this a successful event!
