Beowulf's Funeral

Beowulf Eulogy
For anyone who does not know me, I am Wiglaf. My uncle, Beowulf was born in 495. He passed away a hero around 583. Beowulf’s death has greatly impacted so many people. He was not only a great uncle, but also a great role model. Ever since I have known Beowulf, he has been a warrior that was never afraid of anything. Many people fear death, but he did not. I have watched Beowulf become wiser throughout his years of life. He has always been brave and a risk taker ever since I knew him. Beowulf was always a father figure to me. I looked up to him and he taught me what I know now. I could not be any more proud of him. When I was very young, I remember hearing about how my uncle went to fight a giant named Grendel. I remember hearing how he traveled to Heorot Hall and fought him. Beowulf never showed any fear. He also helped to kill Grendel’s mother. She had attacked many warriors in spite of anger for her son getting killed. Beowulf’s last courageous event was when he fought a dragon that destroyed his kingdom, which he had been ruling for fifty years. Unfortunately, Beowulf suffered injuries that were too strong to overcome. He was a hero that was loyal, brave, generous, experienced, and willing to risk his life for others. May Beowulf rest in peace as a successful warrior.
