Dr. Rachel Williams, Principal
From the Principal
Dear Parents,
We are at the ten day mark and that is when we typically find out from the school system if we are adding or decreasing any classes on a grade level here at CCES. The district will meet today after school, so at this time I do not have an update for you. When I know more, I will share immediately. I know many of you are anxious and I will always keep you aware in a timely manner.
We have had another fantastic week here at CCES. This has been the smoothest start by far for all the principals I have spoken to. I was able to attend both school board member community meetings this week. You, as parents are always invited to these monthly meetings and the dates are listed in my newsletter in advance. Board members are elected by you and the two that represent CCES, Katha Stuart and Katie Reeves, both take time to listen to concerns. In fact, Katie Reeves visited us during the first week of school. We are grateful to have a strong school board in Fulton.
Last week, I shared a message on Twitter that was sent to me as a text from a current CCES teacher. It was by far, one of the sweetest messages I have ever received as a leader. One thing I always address with my staff is, customer service is priority. You as a family, and your child are our number one customer. We want you to feel that in all interactions. I also talk with the staff often about positivity. We have worked diligently for four years to build a positive cohesive staff here within our school and I think it shows. Our staff became educators because they love children and they want to make a difference. They all have a highly difficult job. So, as I asked of you last year, when things happen or you have a question, please direct concerns to the appropriate school personnel. Posting negativity on any social media site hurts our school and can be personally hurtful to adults. We work so hard inside these four walls to build positivity. Please work with us, not against us, as a community support. Our school has a reputation of being one of the best. In fact, we are ranked in the top 20 elementary schools in the state of Georgia. You most likely purchased your home because of the great schools in our community. Because we have high standards and expectations of one another, it takes everyone working together in harmony for the success of our kids. These two photos from bulletin boards in our building speak volumes to me.
Tonight, the Milton Eagles will play downtown at the Georgia State stadium at 8:30 p.m. I look forward to seeing any families who might be in attendance. Have a great weekend!
Calling all volunteers!
Everyone interested in volunteering with students at Crabapple Crossing will need to register with Fulton County Schools prior to their volunteer shift. Fulton County Schools (FCS) updated their system over the summer and all volunteers, both new and returning, will need to complete the online registration. The process is simple and will take about 20 minutes to complete from home. To begin, follow the link, http://www.fultonschools.org/en/community/Pages/VolunteerRegistration.aspx.
Please complete this online registration at least 48 hours before you arrive at school to volunteer. Also, please be prepared to present your driver’s license to the front office staff the first time you come to volunteer.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Fulton County Schools Code of Conduct
Parents are asked to review school system rules and submit an acknowledgement signature form at the beginning of each school year.
The updated 2018-2019 Student Code of Conduct & Discipline Handbook web link is listed below. A hard copy may also be obtained in our school office.

Teachers will be reviewing the Code of Conduct with students during the first two weeks of school. It is important that parents also discuss the Code of Conduct and potential consequences with their children.
After reviewing the Code of Conduct, parents are requested to submit the Acknowledgment of Electronic Receipt by clicking on the link below. A hard copy can be obtained in the school office.
English Handbook: https://www3.fultonschools.org/codeconduct
