It is always hard to say goodbye to our students for the summer. I hope they always remember this year and years to come at Siegrist. I hope they remember the fun they had, the memories they made, and the way we care about each other! Thank you to everyone for supporting our students and staff. Enjoy your summer and we will be building on our theme for this fall.

Siegrist 2023 Olympic Field Day was a success​. ​ ​We want to send a ​HUGE thank you to our PTA, Platte City Parks and Recreation, Central Platte Fire Department, Pirate Rock Sponsors; Nodaway Valley Bank, Snyder Plumbing Heating & Cooling, and all our station volunteers. We couldn't have done it without you. The weather was gorgeous and the kids had a blast. It is always​ one of the best day​s​ of the year! Thank you to Coach Crawford and Coach Stapleton for planning and coordinating all the events!

The 4th graders finished their year in music with a wonderful program directed by music teacher Mrs. Burnett. The program was based on the book, "Spaghetti on a Hotdog Bun", by Maria Demondi. The message in the book is that we all have feelings and that you should treat other people with kindness even when they aren't kind to you. Throughout the telling of the story the 4th graders sang as well as played the recorder, ukulele and percussion instruments. Through playing instruments we learned to work together to make beautiful music.

Siegrist Elementary said good bye to our 5th grade students with a school clap out. There were a lot of tears and hugs today. Thank you parents for coming to support our clap out.

We will miss you guys! Good Luck in Middle School and enjoy your summer!!

MRA Community Survey:

This week I am also asking for a few minutes of your time to support us in getting your feedback. It is that time of year for ALL in our community to engage in our MRA Leader in Me Survey. This survey is an important guide for us and our work within Leader In Me and our Building Improvement Plan.

Our goal is to have at least 250 families complete our Community Survey. Last year we only had 22 families complete. I know we have a BIG goal this year. If you haven't already done so, please complete online re-enrollment forms and electronic proof of residency by Wednesday, May 24. This will be completed in a new user-friendly student information system called PowerSchool. Click here to first create a PowerSchool account, then follow the steps to complete the New Student Registration 2023-2024 forms for each returning student. The Before and After School Program available to families in the Platte County R-3 School District is Y Club. With Y Club before and after school, children in kindergarten through 5th grade will benefit from homework enrichment, physical activity, and small and large group activities with a focus on building community and youth voice and leadership. Full-time and part-time Y Club is available at each of our elementary buildings (Barry, Compass, Pathfinder, and Siegrist), along with Y Club on days when school is out of session for inclement weather, seasonal breaks, and other days off (enrollment permitting). Operating hours are each weekday from 6:30 a.m. until school begins, and again after school until 6:00 p.m. Registration is now open. Click here to register.

We are happy to announce that we have chosen to sell prepackaged school supplies for the next school year through School Tool Box. We have been using School Tool Box for many years and love their products and customer service.

If you order your supplies online before June 18th, they will be shipped to the school at no cost to you and will come in a reusable keepsake box and will be on your child's desk at Meet the Teacher Night.

If you order your supplies online after June 18, the supplies will be shipped to your home and a shipping fee will be charged to your payment.

It doesn't get any easier than online ordering: Avoid back to school crowds, trusted brand name supplies, teacher approved list and you can also order backpacks, lunch boxes and headphone/ear buds for your child.
