Girls BAsketball

The Girls Basketball teams had a very successful week. On Tuesday, both the JV and Varsity teams defeated Grapevine, with the Varsity score being 50-45.

The Varsity Girls traveled to Katy to participate in the Phillips 66 Invitational Tournament. The Lady Panthers were the runner up in this 32 team tournament. Both sophomores, Bryn Gerlich and junior Caitlyn Foster, were named to the All Tournament team. The game results are as follows
CHHS- 51, Katy Morton Ranch- 28
CHHS- 62, Cypress Creek- 21
CHHS- 44, Cypress Falls- 38
CHHS- 51, Friendswood- 41
CHHS- 41, Katy Tompkins- 44

The JV and freshman teams competed in the Mansfield tournament. The JV went 3-1 in the
tournament and the freshman girls went 1-2.

All teams play on Tuesday against FW South Hills. Game times are JV and freshman at 5:00 and Varsity at 6:30 at CHHS. The Lady Panthers hit the road on Friday for games at Arlington Sam Houston.

CHHS Girls gymnastics

The CHHS Girls Gymnastics placed 6th at the HEB Bell HS Invitational Gymnastics Meet, and Brenna Currie placed 10th place on the beam. Way to go!

CHHS Debate Team

Congratulations to the CHHS debate team for their performance at the University of Texas at Austin Longhorn Classic. Competing against 118 Public Forum debate teams from throughout Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma, juniors Miranda Nutt and Alina Shivji were semifinalists at the tournament. They lost the the tournament champions, Plano Senior, on a 2-1 decision in the semifinal round. Miranda was also named the top speaker in that division.

Percussionist, Grant Sarmiento

CHHS Senior Percussionist, Grant Sarmiento was a guest performer with the Richardson Symphony Orchestra this past Saturday. He performed at their Holiday Classics Concert at the Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts. The Richardson Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1961 and is currently under the direction of Maestro Clay Couturiaux.

Panther Volleyball

The Lady Panther Volleyball team celebrated the season with a banquet on Monday, November 30th that proved to be a dazzling event.

The CHHS Panther Cheerleaders competed on Saturday, December 5 at the Universal Cheerleaders Associations North Texas Regional Competition held at Lewisville High School. The squad competed in two different competitions, Game Day and Traditional Large Varsity.

The cheerleaders brought home the following awards:
* 1st Place-Traditional Large Varsity

* Traditional Large Varsity National Bid/Qualifier

* 2nd Place-Overall Game Day (Co Ed & General)

* Game Day National Bid/Qualifier

Panther Cheer has qualified for the National High School Cheerleading Championship in both Game Day and Traditional Large Varsity. The NHSCC will be held in Orlando, Florida on February 5-8, 2016.
