Foothill MS Community Memo

November 9, 2020

It appears that autumn has arrived! This week we also have the honor to recognize America's veterans for their willingness to serve and sacrifice for our nation. No matter the day of the week, our nation pauses to observe Veterans on November 11, therefore school will be closed for the day. I've noted below that our technology department for the district will take down ALL digital systems for critical maintenance and updates. There will be no access to all things Google and the Aeries/HomeLink system, from 6am until 6am on Thursday.

In your inbox you should find the Superintendent's Friday letter, which can also be found here. It contains a new proposed Hybrid schedule and what instruction may look like. There are many questions that still need answering so stay current with your email, the District website, and the Foothill website.

We will be moving forward with a new communication tool, Parent Square, which will serve students, parents/guardians, staff, and district personnel. Below are details. To keep you informed I've shared a link to the Common Sense Media site with strategies for balancing your child's media life.

The Mindful Life Project, which serves many communities in the area, is bringing free mindfulness sessions for families. These will be Tuesdays, 5-5:30pm on Zoom--see flyer below.

Last but not least, picture day is finally coming. Beginning December on both the 1st and 2nd you can sign up for a time so this can be a safe and efficient event. All students will need a school ID so it is important to complete this.

Appreciative to serve the Foothill Community.

~Mrs. Vaiana
