PTA News
We are so excited for the new school year. It was great seeing students and parents at Open House on Thursday. It is the community support that makes Parsons the BEST!
How to Access Digital Learning, eCLASS, and Your Teacher's eCLASS Page
Parent Guide: Finding Teacher's eCLASS Page
Student Portal (eCLASS) Passwords
To access the Student Portal, your student will be required to type his or her numeric birthday in the password field using two digits for their birth month, two digits for their birthday, and four digits for their birth year. For example, if your student’s birth occurred on June 9, 2015, their reset password would be 06092015.
Students in grades K-5 will retain their birthdate password for the first six weeks of school. After Labor Day, K-5 students will be provided a unique passphrase as their password.
The student portal can be accessed at
https://publish.gwinnett.k12.ga.us/gcps/home/gcpslogin.
User Name: Student ID Number
Password: Birthday (8 digit numeric birthday)
Staggered Return Digital Days
For those students who will participating in digital learning on the staggered days of return, please have your student log on their teacher's eClass page for a LIVE synchronous session at 9:00am each day. The teacher will share the daily schedule with the class at this time.
Breakfast and Lunch Program Updates
All Digital Students, including Staggered Return, may pick up school lunch in the bus lane between 11:30-12:30 Wednesday, August 4-Friday, August 6th.
This year, like last year, school breakfast and lunch will be available at no cost to all students through Federal grants. That said, it is also very important that parents of students eligible for Free and/or Reduced priced lunch still complete the annual application for the Free and/or Reduced Priced Lunch program. Documentation of enrollment in this program is often a requirement to access other programs that provide resources to families and schools. If you believe your family is eligible for the program or has enrolled in the program in the past, I encourage you to access the online application in the message below and complete the application as soon as possible.
During the first two weeks of school, we ask that parents not attend lunch with their students. Teachers use these first few weeks of school to establish routines, procedures, and expectations for lunch.
From Gwinnett County Public Schools School Nutrition program:
The SY21-22 online Free and Reduced Application is now available.
Health Guidelines to Minimize Risk of Covid
GCPS schools have established reasonable and precautionary practices within the school to minimize risk of infection and/or spread of COVID-19.
Guidance is subject to change based on updated recommendations from the CDC/Department of Public Health and will be communicated to local school HRT members.
- Parsons will provide opportunities for regular handwashing.
- Parsons will implement the custodial schedule/processes to clean high touch areas during the school day.
- Administration, along with guidance from our local Health Response Team, will clearly communicate and follow COVID-19 criteria for return to work/school in consultation with county nurses.
- Face coverings are required for all staff, students and visitors.
- Visitors will have limited access to students.
School Visitors
There will be restrictions around parents visiting our school this year. Parents may volunteer at the school, but only in areas with limited access to students. For the safety of our children, all visitors must check in and out through the office and wear a visitor’s badge while in the building.
Parents should not visit the classroom in the morning. If you want to discuss the progress of your child, you should call, send an email, or make a conference appointment at a time when class is not in session. Staff hours are generally 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
