Student Meetings
Virtual Students:
The first step for students to set up a zoom meeting with their counselor is having parents complete the following consent form: https://www.cognitoforms.com/DerryTownshipSchoolDistrict/hmscounselingofficeinformedconsent
Next, parents or students can email their counselor and pick a time that will work best for them.
From there, the counselor will share a zoom link with students and meet them there!
HYBRID STUDENTS
1) Follow the steps of a virtual student, to set up a meeting on the days they are not in face to face school.
2) Scan the QR Code or email their counselor to find a time to meet while in school. Meetings during face to face time do not require a counseling consent form to be completed!
Tutoring Available
HHS National Honor Society Offering Tutoring
To sign up, students will need to complete the below form titled "Tutoring Request Form" from their school email then a member from NHS will be in contact with the student to set up a zoom meeting. Students will be asked by the tutor to complete the post tutoring hours form to help our members keep track of their hours.
Tips to a Successful Year
1. Designate a "SCHOOL" location at home.
2. Create a daily schedule with set school hours.
One option would be to use a template like below to fill in what you are doing during each time. We encourage students to fill in time for school, homework, sports/activities, friends, family, and of course some "me" time to relax! For many, color coding by category helps to give a better visual.
3. Remove distractions.
4. Create "To Do" Lists.
For each student, finding ways to keep to do lists and track of assignments is going to look a little different. It's important to try one at a time until they find one that they like. One example of a To Do list is below. Another option would be using the "Notes" app on their iPad to create checklists for each class. There are many more ways to try!
5. Ask Questions and let us know when you need help!
