KISD Technology Outage

Keller ISD is currently experiencing a major system outage that includes KISD external and internal websites, email, Home Access Center, and all other network applications.

The outage was first identified Tuesday afternoon, November 11, with a failure of critical hardware in the District's Network and Operations Center. Phones are working normally.

We apologize for the inconvenience and any delay in communications this may have caused. If you sent us an e-mail anytime after Tuesday morning this week, chances are we have not yet received it.

Additionally the attendance system is down so if you receive a call or email about attendance through late next week, it could be an error until all the attendance records are restored.

Our teachers have been agile, creating "Plan B" lessons that may have originally relied heavily on web-based resources; however, learning continues at Timberview! Thanks again for your patience!

Super Star Bowlers!

Some of our students participated in the Area 11 Special Olympics Bowling Competition November 5-8. The results are as follows:

  • Dimarco C- 2nd place- Silver Medal
  • Chandler D- 1st place- Gold Medal

Timberview will conduct campus-wide safety drills during the day on Monday, November 17. Safety drills planned for that day include fire, tornado (duck and cover), and campus lockdown. Parents/families, please talk with your students about the importance of taking these drills seriously and following the procedures so that we all can be prepared and safe in what we hope to be the unlikely event we should experience an actual emergency.

Yearbook News

Don't forget to purchase your student a copy of the 2014-15 TMS yearbook. Copies can be purchased at www.yearbooksforever.com.

Yearbook staff is looking for pictures for the Halloween story. Please send pictures taken of your TMS student in costume to jennifer.bass@kellerisd.net. Please include student's name and grade.

The Timberview Fine Arts Department proudly presents its first ever Musical Production!

The show is Disney's Beauty & the Beast, Jr. Show dates are November 20, 21, 22, at 7:00 PM and November 22 at 12:00. Tickets will be $4 or $5 for the show and dessert. As always faculty is free with KISD badge.

We hope to see you there!

Traffic Reminders

Parents please understand that the loop by the playground is for bus and shuttle pick up and drop off only. Regular student pick up and drop off is not allowed in that area because these buses and shuttles go to numerous campuses and are on tight schedules to pick up and drop off students in multiple locations.

We appreciate your cooperation!

Nurse's Notes

Just a few reminders:

  1. If your child has an issue they are seeing a physician and being evaluated or treated for, please notify the school nurse via email or phone. For example a broken bone, concussions, heart issues. Notes being sent with students don't always make it to the office so if you call the school nurse, she will check with your student or contact you if they don't have it.
  2. Students may carry an inhaler with paper work signed by a doctor and turned into the nurse.
  3. If your student is ill please keep them home. An exclusion list here. If you have questions please call the school nurse.
  4. Get your flu shots and wash your hands or use hand sanitizer.

There is also a hygiene letter from the nurse in the flyer folder here.

If your student needs an Epi pen, the following site offers you a copay card or coupon up to $100 off. https://www.epipen.com/en/copay-offer

Anti-smoking lessons will be done for 5th graders during PE class on November 19 & 20. Students may come home with more questions or facts about the harmful effects of smoking.

To contact the nurse by phone, 817-744-2620, via email jane.danielson@kellerisd.net.
